Tannis and Rheannon worked together as the driving force behind the Alberta Culinary Tourism Alliance prior to starting Food Tourism Strategies. Their passion and determination led them to become industry leaders in culinary tourism in Alberta. They worked tirelessly to bring programs like Cook It Raw to Alberta, developed industry resources and toolkits, assisted numerous events across the province to enhance their culinary offerings and established themed culinary trails to showcase taste of place - all to put Alberta on the map as a premier culinary destination. The Cook It Raw Alberta program was awarded the 2016 Alto (Alberta Tourism Awards) for Collaborative Tourism, and the organization itself was awarded the first-ever TIAC (Canadian Tourism Award) for Best Culinary Experience in 2016.
